Director: Noah Baumbach
Release: August 14th, 2015
I’ll always appreciate Noah Baumbach for his help in Wes Anderson’s films, which of course I love. I really enjoyed The Squid and the Whale, which I thought was wonderfully weird. And I like the quirky New York vibe he brings to his new films, like Frances Ha and Greenberg. But I can’t be the only one tiring of Greta Gerwig playing the same character in each of his movies and making the whole thing look the same as it did last time. Baumbach seems, like his creations, to be stuck in one place without the skill necessary to leave it.
