I’m tired of all these YA novels making their way on screens, dragging themselves along although they were dead before they even started. I hate to chop down a genre, but these books aren’t actually good, they’re just catchy, and so we shouldn’t be surprised when their film versions can’t cut it. And really, high schoolers? Elgort is 23, CGM is 20; they need to grow up and find adult roles if they think that they’re talented enough to earn them.
