I don’t know much about Oscar Wilde, but his story is one that’s far too common. It makes me sick to think of anyone being persecuted or sent to prison or sterilized or any number of atrocities, simply for being gay. It’s abhorrent, as are the people who prosecute love as a crime. That dominates this trailer for me, but otherwise, I think this film looks great, with performances that are poised to blow us away. This is Everett’s directorial debut, and I hope it’s amazing.
