Director: Dan Gilroy

Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Toni Collette

Release: February 1st, 2019

I was expecting a lot more from this film, much more than a scary, bloody, cheaply-made art-comes-alive-and-kills-you type of thing, and I’m really disappointed that this is the result. It makes sense; Gilroy has directed two movies and they’re both only OK, despite phenomenal lead actors (Nightcrawler, Roman J. Israel Esq.).  He writes movies as well, but they aren’t that great either, so I guess we should have seen this coming.  People are excited about what they see here because it’s JG, who I love, and it’s frightening, which I don’t care for.  I guess I’ll check this out on Netflix when it’s released because why not, but I’m not going in with high expectations.
