This film has a bit of an A Beautiful Mind vibe, what with the troubled mathematician and his lovely companion. That movie won an Oscar; could this do the same? I wouldn’t put it past Cumberbatch; he’s a brilliant actor. And Knightley is definitely at her best in period pieces when she’s actually allowed to be British. So hey, could work.
