Michael Winterbottom is an intriguing director. He’s created a million films, most of which you’ve never heard of before, highlighted by a few standouts. In his early career, that eye-catching film was 9 Songs, a movie that most people would consider porn set to good music. Then it was A Mighty Heart, starring Angelina Jolie. After, he directed The Killer Inside Me, a very odd crime thriller. Then he did a bunch of Steve Coogan movies: The Trip, The Trip to Italy, The Look of Love. Which director are we going to get with this newest one? I’d guess the Killer Inside Me filmmaker, and that’s not a great thing.
