Director: Natalie Portman
Starring: Natalie Portman, Amir Tessler, Gilad Kahana
Release: August 19th, 2016
Written, directed, and led by Natalie Portman, this film is going to be about nothing but her. You can tell from the trailer, it’s a movie made by someone obsessed with themselves trying to pass it off as based on something else. Every over-dramatic shot, every color-enhanced scene, every turn of the head back toward the camera, it’ll all be about herself and barely about the book at all. I predict a complete failure from someone who isn’t a writer or a director at all, but is just pretending to be one in order to have more control, recognition, and screen time. I know this sounds bitter, and I really like Natalie Portman, I support people trying their hand at different jobs. But not this, this isn’t going to work, I’ll eat my hat if it turns out to be something wonderful and award-worthy.
