Director: Saul Dibb
Starring: Michelle Williams, Matthias Schoenaerts, Kristin Scott Thomas
This time period is always amazingly interesting; all it takes is a little effort not to screw it up and you’ve got yourself a hit. I like the French perspective, the drama of a love in an occupied country, with the war going on all around. And I like the pieces; Michalle Willams is a terrific actress, and Dibb did a great job with The Duchess six years ago, although he hasn’t done a single thing since.
