Screw you, Malick, you can’t just toy with our emotions like this. I know he’s a horrible director, or else, his movies should be wonderful but they always turn out to be horrible. And he tricks me time and time again, always casting delicious celebrities, always presenting a beautiful story, and then making us sit through nine hours of dazzling light playing on water and volcanoes erupting. Fool me once, right?
