I want to like this, I truly do, because I thought Sicario was so phenomenal. But, seriously, they’re just doing the first movie a second time, down to the last screenshot, explosion, sweeping cinematic effect, and helicopter ride. There is nothing new here, it’s the exact same thing, why would we want to watch that again minus Emily Blunt? We can just re-watch the original; she’s in that one. At the same time, I like this style, this grit, this story, I want it to be good. I’m just not sure it can be, not without Blunt, Villeneuve, and some unique content.
