It’s been a while since Jim Sheridan made a good, Irish movie, but I don’t think he’ll return to form here. I think this movie actually looks terrible, and that’s with my respect for Rooney Mara in mind. I loved her in Carol, I also really enjoyed Brooklyn, but I don’t think that this combination of the two will work in any way. It looks like a terrible love story/flashback drama that has nothing new to say, and whoever made this trailer ought to be fired.
