Baumbach definitely has a certain style, a less-whimsical, more-morbid version of Wes Anderson’s, whom he often works with.  The movies he directs (The Squid and the Whale, Margot at the Wedding, Greenberg, Frances Ha, While We’re Young, Mistress America) are all strong, but he has definitely chosen to go down a Greta Gerwig/Ben Stiller path that isn’t my favorite.  This story with these actors though; I wonder if it will be a return to his earlier work and a divergence from the introspective, New York apartment dramodies that have begun to bore me.  I have high hopes, anyway.
