This English drama comes out of nowhere to smack us in the face with naked, violent, seductive, period piece melancholy, but with a flare for horror that doesn’t normally enter into the genre. I’m prepared to be absolutely blown away by the film, a movie that takes the standard recipe and muddies it up a bit, clouding the water until we can’t see what might happen next.
