I would say that once you got past the porn, this film opened up into something that looked like it might be dramatic and interesting and curiously deep, but I think that would be a lie. First off, there’s no getting past the porn, and, gay or straight porn, it doesn’t matter, that’s a pretty big barrier. Secondly, I don’t think the content would be very strong even if you could get past the surface. This cast just isn’t good enough to pull off the weird, indie thriller that this movie is trying to be. James Franco, Christian Slater, Molly Ringwald, Alicia Silverstone; this movie will in no way be the next Boogie Nights.
