Period pieces about 1800s romance will always be popular as long as women long for “classic love”. What’s ironic is that they rarely show love in any form other than confused passion. However, I can’t say I’ve never enjoyed a good Victorian era love affair movie, and I’m fairly willing to trust Carey Mulligan in one. She’s an excellent actress, a great young talent. Pride & Prejudice, An Education, Never Let Me Go, The Great Gatsby, Inside Llewyn Davis; all stellar roles that prove she can handle any story.
Looks good to me! You know I’m a sucker for a good period piece.
