I trust these actors with my time, especially Michael Shannon, but I’ve got to say, I’m a little concerned about the weight of this film. It seems guaranteed to drag and to overwhelm, some spectacular acting called upon throughout to save the day. Can these guys do it? Of course they can, and that’s why I’ll be in the theatre to see this film. But I’m worried.
