I was just talking to some critic friends about how I often have read the book before I watch the movie, and such is the case here.  This is a novella from one of Stephen King’s more brutal books, and we all know how brutal he can be.  His novellas are his best works by far, that’s where his talent really shines; scaring us, sure, but also creating characters within a few pages that you feel like you’ve known all your life.  This was a good story, it should make for a good movie, and with the success of It, I’d be surprised if more & more of his ideas didn’t make their way onto our screens.  Zak Hilditch directed These Final Hours, which was good, so I have some faith that he can get these b-level actors to do a-level work.  We’ll see.
