Verhoeven’s filmography is strange: Flesh+Blood, RoboCop, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Showgirls, Starship Troopers, Hollow Man, Black Book. There are a couple solid movies in there, surprisingly, but some are absolutely terrible. He hasn’t done any major work in years, how will his touch be felt in this one? Judging solely from the trailer, this movie looks intriguing at the very least, and kind of funny in a very, very dark way.
