I like Joe Swanberg’s shit, I really do, but I wonder if he’s running out of steam. Drinking Buddies, Happy Christmas, Digging for Fire, Easy; all a little worse than the one before, and I’m worried that Win It All will just continue the trend. I was just talking about Netflix developing a “type”, and this movie fits right into that emerging mold, the nutty crime/comedy. It might be OK, but I think it has a very low ceiling.
