Hoosiers and Rudy are undisputed classics, but I wonder if that era has passed us by, if the time for that genre of film has passed. Will all the knowledge we have of athletes, we’ve lost some respect for their determination, even perhaps for those from the past. We might appreciate their accomplishments, but I wonder if we’re far too jaded to love them any more. Does the same go for movies about them? I fear that it does.
